As I listened to one of my favorite arrangements of "Come Thou Fount" a phrase stood out,Praise the mount, I'm fixed upon it.
Mount of Thy redeeming Love.
We must ascend, we must strive to be where God is.
Moses went up on a mountain to be with God and was shown the wonders of eternity...and the wonder that he is a son of God.
Climbing mountains is not an easy process. It is not a choice made by accident. It is a deliberate choice. It is not always steep, but it is always purposeful. There are valleys before the summit, meadows of peace and rocky places that we must struggle through.
Do we want to be with God? Which mountains are we climbing right now in our life? Somehow, seeing a divine purpose in it visually, visualizing that summit above seems to bring me hope and peace this morning.Mountain. View. Heights. Struggle. Keep those sights high. It will be worth the choice to go uphill and not down.
